High-Security Forensic Psychiatry Hospital: A Design in Harmony with Nature and Focused on People Located in the northern part of the İzmir Bayraklı City Hospital campus, YGAP Hospital stands out with its modern architecture and seamless integration with the natural terrain. Designed as a five-story structure, it perfectly balances functionality and aesthetics. Prioritizing security, access to the allocated area is provided through the security building located on the western façade. The main entrance is strategically positioned at the structural core of the building, with medical units arranged around this central hub. This layout enhances both user experience and operational efficiency. The most striking feature of the project is its terraced design, which ensures complete harmony with the surrounding topography. Inside the building, courtyards on different floors are designed to meet the needs of both patients and staff. Outside, the site’s natural elevation differences are utilized to create extensive landscaped areas, offering the healing power of nature to patients. YGAP Hospital is not just a healthcare facility but also a prime example of contemporary architecture, blending functionality with an environmentally conscious approach.
